A conventional full denture rests on the gums and is held by suction and adhesive. It's the cheapest option but moves when you eat and talk, and the lower one especially can be loose.
An implant-supported overdenture snaps onto 2–4 implants. It's removable for cleaning but doesn't slip. This is the sweet spot for many patients: far cheaper than All-on-4, far more stable than a plain denture.
Dentures need several fittings to get the bite and the flange right — plan on a longer stay or a follow-up trip, and don't accept a denture that hurts or rocks “until it settles.”
A conventional denture is usually 5–7 working days with multiple try-in appointments. An implant overdenture follows the implant timeline: place implants, heal 3–6 months, then fit.
Yes, a reline or repair is cheap and quick — often a same-day job — if you're already traveling for other work.
The overdenture comes out for cleaning and needs less bone and fewer implants, so it costs less. All-on-4 is fixed in place and feels closer to natural teeth. Ask a clinic to compare both for your case.
